Brendan-DeanBrendan Dean (Partner)

Brendan is the firm’s Managing partner and is also one of the founders of the firm. In 2000 Brendan and some former colleagues set up Ashworths as one of the few specialist property firms in the area. The firm has now expanded to become one of the best known and respected property niche practices in South West London and Surrey.

Brendan started working in Wimbledon in 1995 and qualified in 1997 specialising in commercial property, with particular emphasis on development acquisition. His work includes secured lending, landlord and tenant and also licensing. As well as being responsible for the firm’s forward thinking IT policy, Brendan is also responsible for accreditation compliance including Ashworths’ Lexcel and Investors in People awards.

Diana-GreenhamDiana Greenham (Partner)

Diana is an experienced Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives and has worked for several law firms in the Wimbledon area since 1987. She joined Rowley Ashworth in 1994, initially to assist with the ever increasing caseload of overseas investment clients that the firm had.  In May 2000 Diana along with Brendan and Loveday moved to Ashworths and is now a Partner.

Diana spent many years dealing with the acquisition of new build property for a mix of Hong Kong investment buyers and both UK investment and private buyers. During this time she attended property exhibitions in Hong Kong and Singapore to represent clients personally on the purchase of new build ‘off plan’ properties. She has retained strong links with many far East property agencies and financial institutions and continues to represent overseas clients on the subsequent resale of their investment properties.  Whilst her speciality is dealing with New Build properties, Diana also deals with general residential conveyancing.

James3James Simmonds (Partner)

James joined the firm in May 2010 and now works in the Commercial Property department as a Partner. He qualified in 2008 having trained in a practice in Hertfordshire specialising in property, private client and related general commercial matters.

James originally studied History at the University of Manchester and then went on to complete his post graduate studies in Law in London. James undertakes a wide range of commercial transactions including acquisitions and disposals, development work and landlord and tenant work.

Zoe1Virginia King

Virginia joined the firm in May 2014 and works in the residential Property department as an Assistant Solicitor. She graduated from the University of Surrey and qualified in 1996 after post graduate studies in Law and has worked in the City, Central London and Southeast London for most of her career.

Virginia has a background in Landlord and Tenant work and practises across a wide range of residential property matters from sales to purchases to amending and extending leases. Due to Virginia’s wealth of experience, she is able to assist in both every day as well as more complex property matters.

Claire WrightClaire Wright

Claire joined the firm in January 2015 and works in the Commercial Property department as an Assistant Solicitor. She qualified as a solicitor in 2000 at a regional law firm in East Anglia where she subsequently became a partner.  Claire was head of the Care Home team at this firm and was instrumental in the appointment of the firm to a number of select panels for lenders in this specialist area.  She decided to travel the world for a couple of years in 2012 before returning to her career as a solicitor in London.

Claire undertakes a wide range of Landlord and Tenant transactions, development work, business sale and acquisitions and some residential conveyancing.   Her clients appreciate a practical and hands-on approach that guides them through their transactions.

JamieJamie Coates

Jamie joined the firm in July 2013 as a paralegal.  In early 2016 Jamie qualified as a solicitor having specialised during his training contract in residential and commercial property alongside employment law.  Jamie originally studied English Literature at the University of Surrey at which time he decided he wanted to do a post graduate degree in law.  Jamie now works in the Residential Property department as an assistant solicitor.  Jamie has experience in residential matters across the board whilst retaining an interest in commercial matters.

Zoë Melville-Harris (Consultant)

Zoë offers over 20 years of knowledge and expertise in the house building sector and understands the challenges and issues faced by house builders and the importance of maximizing sales and cash flow within tight timescales. Often involved in high value and complex sale and purchase transactions, Zoë is accustomed to preparing and negotiating detailed estate and transfer documentation on behalf of private and corporate clients and high net worth individuals. Her unique skills and experience extend beyond just the pure legal issues of a deal.

They also encompass advice and assistance on the financial and commercial aspects of a matter including the sales and marketing processes which perform a vitally important role in each transaction. Zoë has represented her clients at property exhibitions both in the UK and abroad, in particular, Hong Kong, South Africa and Dubai. Always striving to deliver her service with speed, accuracy and efficiency, Zoë has gained a reputation for competitively priced work and quality of service.
